A typical day at your retreat
Whilst there’s always a structured plan in mind, the magic of a small retreat is its adaptability. If the group needs more rest, we slow down. If you need extra support, you get it.
Because spaces are strictly limited, you’ll never be just a face in the crowd. A smaller group allows for individual attention and support, ensuring each day’s practice can be adapted to your physical and emotional needs.
Approximately 4–5 hours of guided practice each day, leaving plenty of time to rest and enjoy the estate.
Morning session (approx. 2 hours): Yoga movement and flow, breathwork and meditation
Lunch
Afternoon session (approx. 2 hours): Workshop or discussion, followed by relaxation, somatic movement, restorative yoga or meditation
Dinner
Saturday evening: Fire pit ceremony (weather permitting)

Retreat food
Our private chef, Delia – aka The Jammy Cook – will be providing all your food throughout the retreat. Having run her own successful restaurant, Delia now works as a private chef for exclusive events, and we’re lucky to have her skills exclusively for the weekend.
Delia and I are both foodies, so every dish is designed to nourish both body and soul, put a smile on your face and a “mmmmm” in your mouth.
Take a look below to see what’s included throughout your stay, along with a sample menu.
-
Before the morning workshops, fruit and bread or pastries will be available for anyone who prefers not to practise on an empty stomach.
-
Brunches and lunches will be vegetarian or fish-based, using delicious fresh local produce.
-
Dinner will include a main dish, sides and pudding, prepared with Delia’s flair for herbs and spices.
-
A welcoming afternoon tea will be served on Friday, including home-baked scones, cookies or cakes.
-
A sample menu can be added here to give guests a flavour of the dishes they may enjoy during the retreat.
Time in nature
The beautiful Scottish Borders setting is very much part of the retreat experience.
Wild swimming is an optional extra for anyone looking to embrace nature a little more fully. For those who prefer to stay dry, the peaceful surroundings, hill walks and open countryside are just as enjoyable.
In the evening, gather around the fire pit to relax, chat about the day or simply sit quietly beneath the stars and enjoy the flames.

Frequently asked questions
-
Yes. The retreat is suitable for complete beginners and experienced practitioners alike. Every practice is offered with simpler options and modifications. Sam is a qualified yoga therapist and senior yoga & meditation teacher , the focus is on a practice that suits the body in front of her, not on advanced poses, unless of course this is something you wish to try.
-
All meals on the retreat are plant-based prepared by Delia our amazing local Borders chef. (Truly amazing) The menu emphasises wholesome proteins to support both vitality and recovery. Each day includes pre-practice fruit and nibbles, a hearty brunch, and a two-course dinner. Tea, herbal teas and coffee are available all day. Special dietary needs (gluten-free, allergies) can be accommodated, mention them when booking
-
Yes , the majority of guests come alone. The retreat is structured to feel immediately social (communal meals, group practice, shared experiences) while still protecting plenty of quiet alone-time. Twin-shared rooms are available at a lower price for solo travellers happy to share; single occupancy is also available.

Free secure parking is available if you are driving. We offer free collection and drop off from Tweedbank Railway Station. This is an easy journey from Edinburgh Waverley if you are flying into Edinburgh Airport. Connection from the airport to the train station is via bus or tram. Alternatively, we can organise a taxi service from Edinburgh or Newcastle airport and will always work to coordinate a shared taxi with any other guests arriving into the same airport.
-
Izzy, our onsite masseuse, will be available if you wish to book an aromatherapy massage. Please let us know as she fills up quickly!
-
Guests are welcome to arrive from 2pm onwards. A welcome tea will be served whilst you have an opportunity to meet your fellow guests. The first practice will begin at 4:30pm. On Sunday, departure is after lunch, generally from 2pm onwards.
-
Each room will have a bathrobe, a hairdryer and toiletries from Natural Little Bee - shampoo, conditioner, body wash and lotion. We also supply a sarong for those of you wishing to join the optional Wild Swim. If you plan to swim/hike you may wish to bring hiking boots/shoes in case it’s wet and muddy.

Do I need travel insurance? Yes. Travel insurance is a condition of booking. It must cover cancellation, health, pandemics, activities such as yoga, walking, swimming in the loch if you opt for this and any additional excursions. The deposit (£231+) is non-refundable after 12 August, so travel insurance protects you in case life intervenes.
